DayCor® ORSOLAR is a powerful high-speed oil-spill monitoring eye, an imager that adds visual information about existing floating slicks and sheens, their boundaries, thickness and location. ORSOLAR can be fit into a variety of airplanes gimbaled payloads.
Based on UV polarization imaging, ORSOLAR streams out clear and sharp video of scanned area. Fine tuning of the sensor during flight controls the definition and resolution of the obtained information. The implemented technology enables seeing solar UV reflections from of oil spills, reflections that are not dependent on temperature differences between the oil and water and can therefore detect very thin layers of spill. ORSOLAR can detect sheens as thin as 0.1µm and show clearly their boundaries with water. ORSOLAR records and saves the inspection process for follow up and reporting.
ORSOLAR is offered either as a standalone ORSOLAR – EYE, a UV eye, as we call our sensors, to be mounted on UAS or as an additional OEM sensor in an existing gimballed system, or as a stationary inspection system mounted on a pan N tilt stand.
ORSOLAR-ROM is a compound encapsulated system that consists of complementary technologies that together provide a full spectral coverage. Each of the deployed sensors adds unique and overlapping information.
Ofil’s ORSOLAR is a premium choice for detecting marine oil spills and offshore pipelines leaks. Information is available on- the-fly just on time, can be streamed, transmitted and stored onboard. Findings are valuable during cleansing and help evaluate dispersants. Recorded data is valuable for long term analysis and formulate guidelines. ORSOLAR is light in weight, simple to install and configured for gyro stabilized gimbaled payloads of sizes and mounts that match most airplanes
